Graphic designer, creative project manager, and photographer with over 12 years of experience in the creative industry.
Graphic Design Experience
I’ve worked as a graphic designer in both in-house and agency settings for over 10 years. I studied Communications Integrated Media at Simmons College in Boston. There, I learned web design, video production, graphic design, and visual communication. I completed my independent study (similar to a thesis) in Adobe After Effects, and won my school’s Media Arts Award for my innovative use of the medium.
My design specialties include digital/social media design, presentation design, web design/UX, branding design, and print design.
Currently, I work as a UX Design Manager at TD Bank (U.S.). I manage a “pod” of three UX writers and three designers and am responsible for the design and overall user experience for td.com, TD Bank’s U.S. website.
Prior to my current role, I worked as a Senior Designer and Creative Team Lead on the Corporate Communications Team at Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA. There, I managed a designer and videographer/photographer along with a fleet of freelance photo/video staff. I designed and managed creative for a health news website called Coverage. I worked cross-functionally with the Blue Cross Marketing team designers to bring new brand guidelines to life across all of our internal communications channels including our intranet, company templates (PPT, Word), digital signage, and the physical building interiors.
Before Blue Cross, I managed a team of designers and a videographer at FleishmanHillard, a global PR firm. I managed design and the creative team process and worked on client accounts including Bose, AT&T, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Anheuser Busch. The videographer/photographers taught me how to use Canon photo equipment, and I learned basic animation and lighting techniques through them. I art directed photoshoots for clients like Anheuser-Busch and was the lead photographer for various client projects.
Outside of my day job, I have a photography practice where I photograph weddings, portraits and lifestyle. I teach Graphic Design at the undergraduate level at the University of New England, one night per week. I am also completing a certificate program in iOS Programming (Swift) for Apple products and will be complete in 2024.
